Logitech tunes in to Internet radio

San Francisco, Calif. Logitech has introduced an Internet-radio enabled Squeezebox. The sleek device features a soft-dome tweeter along with a 3-inch high-power, long-throw woofer.

“Digital music and the Internet have radically changed how we discover, share and listen to music,” explained Logitech’s Sam Feng. “Now, millions of people are downloading music through iTunes and listening to Internet radio stations and music services and our newest Logitech Squeezebox Wi-Fi music players bring it all together. Just plug one in and you can be ready to enjoy music from around the world.”

According to Feng, the Squeezebox Radio offers users access to a “world of music,” including Internet radio, Napster, Pandora, Rhapsody, SIRIUS and Last.fm.

It should be noted that Logitech has also announced a Squeezebox Touch Wi-Fi music player designed for use with existing stereo systems. The Touch – which supports sampling rates of up to 24 bits at 96 kHz – includes a standard USB port and SD card slot for flash drives and memory cards.

The Logitech Squeezebox Radio is expected to retail at $200, while the Squeezebox Touch will be availble for $300.
