If the latest Internet leakage is anything to believe, a new Android phone with a processor as powerful as 1.5 GHz is in the works and would be the fastest Android device to date.
Apparently, there was benchmark data from the new phone put on the website GLBenchmark, and although it has since been removed it showed some pretty impressive stuff.
Discovered by Alienbabeltech.com, the Glacier is the new name for a T-Mobile device originally code-named Project Emerald.
Benchmark tests apparently coming from T-Mobile in Washington showed the Glacier as being three times faster than the HTC Evo 4G, which is currently one of the most powerful devices on the market.
Most high-end smartphones, like the iPhone 4 and Droid X, have a 1 GHz processor, which had seemed to essentially be as high as anyone could go for now. However, the Glacier reportedly has a 1.2 GHz to 1.5 GHz processor.
Alien Babel Tech suggests that this is likely a dual-core Snapdraggon, which would be the very first of its kind.
This would also give more credence to the dream that Motorola has to bring a 2 GHz processor to a mobile phone by next year, something that most people thought it was crazy for saying.
