Video: Nokia showcases ice-based touchscreen

Nokia engineers have successfully created the world’s first ice-based touchscreen.

Although admittedly impractical, the ice-encrusted interactive display is perceived as a giant leap forward into a brave new era of ubiquitous computing.

“This was a playful experiment, but one that we think showed interactive computing interfaces can now be built anywhere,” Nokia researcher Jyri Huopaniem told the New Scientist.

“Playful experiments like this are important – people really liked it. New forms of interaction, sensing and content delivery for future mobile devices could come out of it.”
