We’ve all seen overclocked Windows-based systems jacked up on liquid nitrogen and running off pure geek adrenaline. But what about a supercharged Apple Mac being put through its sweaty, overclocked paces?
Most mere mortals have probably never seen such a privileged sight.
Luckily, Asetek’s Zack Fanning has captured and uploaded his recent Mac overclocking feat for the masses to observe in all its geeky glory.
The brave deed was done a tricked-out 2.8ghz Apple Mac Pro – which was pushed (hard) to 3.1ghz.
Fanning told TG Daily that Asetek’s retrofitted liquid cooling system allowed the rig to run at the same speed and temperature as a more expensive Mac Pro with 13db less noise.
Sweet!
