There are at least several Android-powered set-top boxes on the market today, not counting the innumerable PCs-on-a-stick frequently covered on TG Daily.
Recently, a new Android-powered set-top box dubbed the GV10 debuted with a sorely needed feature competing products on the market lack: an integrated digital TV tuner.
Interestingly, the TV tuner supports DVB-T programming, which isn’t used within the United States, but supports content from the UK and a number of other countries in South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Other than an integrated digital TV tuner, the set-top box boasts an Amlogic AM8726-M3 ARM Cortex-A9 processor paired with 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of storage. The machine is equipped with three USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI output, integrated Wi-Fi, an ethernet port and integrated memory card reader.
Pricing for the set-top box range is between $99 and $112. If you have been searching for an Android-powered set-top box that supports live television broadcasts, assuming your country uses DVB-T, this is one of the only options out there.
If you don’t need integrated TV tuner or you live in a country where it is of no use, you can probably find better performing and cheaper devices to suit your needs, such as the F9.
