Who says gaming rigs are dead?
It’s actually been quite a while since we’ve seen any new gaming desktops from Lenovo, yet today the industry heavyweight introduced a new rig dubbed the Erazer X700. As you might expect, the system is specifically targeted at core PC gamers and designed for horsepower-hungry applications.
The slick rig features what Lenovo describes as an “eye-catching” diamond-cut design with cold blue lighting, which, at least in my opinion, is pretty Tron-worthy indeed.
The Erazer X700 also supports Lenovo’s exclusive OneKey overclocking feature, allowing users to squeeze additional speed and performance out of the processor with the simple click of a button. Meanwhile, another button can be pressed to increase the efficiency of the rig’s integrated liquid cooling system to help keep the chip both chilled and stable.
The gaming desktop is powered by AMD’s Eyefinity technology, allowing users to connect up to six displays for widescreen gaming. The rig – which can be fitted with up to 4 TB of storage via hot-swappable drive bays – ships with 32 GB of RAM and is capable of supporting dual graphics cards from Nvidia GeForce or (AMD) ATI CrossFireX lines.
The machine is designed around the latest Intel Core family of processors with various options available. Availability is slated for June, with pricing kicking off at $1499 and scaling ever upwards depending on options.
In addition to the Erazer X700, Lenovo unveiled its Windows 8-powered IdeaCenter A730 and C540 desktop computers. The multi-touch IdeaCenter A730 is Lenovo’s slimmest 2 all-in-one computer, with a 27-inch screen weighing in at 2560 x 1440 or 1920 x 1080. Both display options support multipoint touch and promise optimal viewing angles. The system can be equipped with a choice of of third-generation Intel Core processors (up to an i7) and up to 1 TB of storage.
The C540 all-in-one is available with an optional touchscreen in 23-inch size. It supports various third-generation Intel Core i3 processors and Nvidia GeForce discrete graphics.
The A730 all-in-one will be available in June starting at $1499, while the C540 is slated to ship in February with non-touch versions starting at $549.
