There are clear signs of recovery in the graphics chip market although there remains some time before sales return to the pre-credit crunch days.

That’s the conclusion of Jon Peddie Research, which revealed quarter three figures for the graphics market. The third quarter of 2009 grew 21.2 percent over the previous quarter, the company said. That’s a historical high for quarter to quarter growth, said CEO Jon Peddie.

But, he continued: “This recovery is young and the wounds are too raw for consumers to go crazy. They’re buying to go back to school, and they’re buying because they really need a new computer.”
