Best Buy is selling an Acer notebook for $250 that comes with a Celeron 900, 2GB of memory and a 160GB hard drive.
The firm said the deal was part of a holiday computing selection at the store and can be bought either online or in-store.
Best Buy didn’t say what software is bundled with the $250 machine and at press time the unit couldn’t be found on its website.
The company said that it will also offer deals on products like the Samsung netbook, a machine that comes with Windows 7, and Dell Limited Edition netbooks, individually numbered and designed by artists.
Best Buy will give away six months of AV protection through the holiday season.
It will offer over 30 laptops from Acer, Apple, Asus, Dell, Gateway, Sony, Toshiba and Lenovo in prices that range from $250 to $2,000. It is also offering eight desktops priced under $500.
