BlackBerry’s outage is second in seven days and nights

North American users of Research in Motion’s BlackBerry smartphone have found themselves without email for the second time in seven days.

RIM confirmed there was a problem in North America and said its technicians are working hard to fix the problem.

The last outage BlackBerry users suffered was a biggie – most of North America couldn’t get service – RIM claims reliability as one of the bright points in the service it offers.

RIM blames the problem this time on versions of BlackBerry messenger that caused a problem with a RIM database.

While texting and call functions weren’t affected by the Tuesday outage, a flood of people complained on Twitter and other social networking sites about the problem.
