Video: Agent smartwatch hits over $336,000 on Kickstarter

The Agent smart watch – which went live on Kickstarter just a few short days ago – has already managed to raise over $336,000 from close to 2,000 backers.

“We’ve created the first smartwatch that doesn’t compromise, with both unparalleled battery life and powerful watch apps,” the Agent team explained in a Kickstarter post.

“[The device offers] two-way communication to smartphones and amazing developer tools that you can download today, and so much more.”

Indeed, users can switch from one watchface to another with the press of a button, matching their style or mood, all while downloading additional “watchfaces” via their smartphones. Agent also links to handsets via Bluetooth, which enables convenient control of music libraries and acts as a wrist-based display for smartphone apps. And yes, Agent is designed to displays incoming calls as well as notifications, and is fully capable of running downloadable apps.

The apps can be written in C# using Microsoft Visual Studio 2012, deployed over Bluetooth and debugged interactively. In addition, developers can use Agent as a secondary display, interacting with the device remotely via Bluetooth from their Objective-C, C#, or Java smartphone app.
