Like the Apple iPad mini but don’t care for its rather hefty price price point? Luckily, there a number of Android-powered knock offs (in terms of appearance), including the Cube U35GT tablet which recently tipped up online.
As you can see in the image below, the Android tablet closely resembles Apple’s iPad mini and boasts a 7.9-inch screen set at a resolution of 1024 x 768.
The low price is certainly the best feature of the Cube U35GT, which starts at around $190. In comparison, the iPad mini starts at approximately $329. The tablet is equipped with a Rockchip RK3188 ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core processor and features 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of integrated storage and Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).
Liliputing notes that the little U35GT is very similar to the larger 10-inch Cube U30GT2. Obviously, it is fitted with a smaller screen and lower resolution, but does use the same quad-core processor. The publication says it is quite impressed with the performance and build quality of the 10-inch tablet, and we can likely expect good things from the smaller tablet as well.
Additional key specs? A two-megapixel rear camera, VGA resolution front camera, mini HDMI port, microSD card slot, integrated Wi-Fi and stereo speakers.
Cube promises that the battery is good for six hours of use per charge. Pricing info for individual units has yet to be released, although we do know it is $120 when buying in bulk.
