Hyundai is bumping up the specs of its seven-inch T7S tablet.
The hardware that carries over from the previous iteration? A Samsung Exynos 4412 quad-core processor paired with Mali 400 graphics – the very same SoC that powers the 9.4-inch Ramos tablet we discussed back in January.
The tablet features a seven-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800, which is the same screen the original version of the tablet used. The change in specs? The new tablet boasts 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage, while the original version only had half as much with 1 GB of RAM and only 8 GB of storage.
The tablet is available at several online retailers starting at $186. It appears the additional memory and storage are going to cost you an extra $20 compared to the original tablet. Additional key features include Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), a five-megapixel rear camera, a 0.3-megapixel front camera and integrated Wi-Fi.
Power for the tablet is drawn from a 3300 mAh battery – promising five hours of run time per charge. Basically, other than an extra $20 and more RAM and storage, this is the same tablet that Hyundai unveiled with the original version. Still, more memory and storage is good thing for people in the market for a low-cost tablet and a $20 markup probably won’t dissuade the masses anytime soon.
