Lenovo has unveiled an uber-thin ultrabook. Dubbed the T431s, the system features a revamped trackpad, an enhanced keyboard, and an arguably more aesthetic design than its predecessors.
Indeed, the T431S boasts an improved keyboard with shortcuts, a thin bezel and new graphite black color. The ultrabook also supports an enhanced trackpad that Lenovo says is the evolution of the TrackPoint and TouchPad – offering users a larger, smooth and responsive multitouch glass surface optimized for gestures on Windows 8.
The T431s is the lightest and thinnest notebook in the Lenovo T series at only 0.82-inches thick and 3.6 pounds. The machine is able to achieve the thin profile and lightweight feel thanks to a carbon fiber top cover and a magnesium exterior. In addition to thin and lightweight features, those materials are also extremely rugged helping the machine to survive the bumps that come along with use on the road.
The ultrabook will have a variety of options available including Intel third-generation Core processors. Graphics will be handled by Intel HD Graphics and the computer can be fitted with up to 12 GB of memory. There’s also a range of hard drive and SSD storage options to choose from.
The display measures 14-inches and supports a resolution of 1600 x 900 with an anti-glare coating. Additional features include a pair of USB 3.0 ports, and a number of security options that are available with Intel vPro technology.
The ThinkPad T431s begins shipping in April at a $949 price point.
