A slick tablet has turned up from Chinese manufacturer Cube that offers an uber-high resolution (1920 x 1200) 10.1-inch display
Of course, a high-resolution display isn’t all the tablet has going for it, as the $300 device also features a Rockchip RK3188 (ARM Cortex-A9 ) quad-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz paired with a Mali 400 GPU.
Liliputing reports that early benchmark results of the above-mentioned processor indicate that it’s more powerful than a range of last-gen high-end chips, including the Nvidia Tegra 3.
That’s pretty impressive hardware for tablet costing around $300. However, tablets from lesser-known Chinese manufacturers are a bit of a gamble because you never know how well the quality control is at the manufacturer. While one tablet may be flawless and work without any issues, another could have dead pixels and other problems severely impacting the performance.
The U30GT2 also features 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, and a rechargeable battery packing 7600 mAh of power. The rear camera is a five-megapixel unit and, yes, there is a front camera of undisclosed (low) resolution which should be sufficient for video calls.
Additional specs include an HDMI port, USB port, microSD card slot for storage expansion, Android 4.1 for the operating system, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
