Samsung’s Galaxy S III is one of the sweetest smartphones on the mobile market. The only thing that could possibly make it better? Yes, you guessed it – Android Jelly Bean (4.1.1).
Although an official upgrade from Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) to Jelly Bean is still pending for the SG3, a number of unofficial 4.1.1 patches are circulating online for the handset.
The latest to tip up? A Jelly Bean leak for the Sprint Galaxy S III which surfaced over on the XDA Devs forum, courtesy of Freeza.
As Poorcollegeguy of XDA Devs confirms, the leak can be flashed like any other ROM, of which there are an odexed and a deodexed version available.
Freeza also implemented a number of mods on the ROM, including a Jelly Bean boot animation, fixed root and an altered kernel to adb shell @ root.
”This should be safe to flash if you’re looking to keep root. So far, users have reported various minor issues with things such as MMS,” Poorcollegeguy confirmed. ”However, aside from minor complaints, the leak is stable and no one has had any major issues with it.”
