After being exclusively available on Sony’s Xperia devices, the ambitious Call of Duty spin-off has spread its wings.Call of Duty: Zombies is now available for most other Android smartphones and tablets.
It is essentially the same experience as the existing “Zombies” mode in the full version of Call of Duty: Black Ops.
For the uninitiated, this mode features waves of zombies throwing themselves at the player who desperately tries to unlock weapons and barricade windows in an effort to keep the dangerous masses at bay.
Players can access several maps, including Kino Der Toten, Ascension, and Call of the Dead: Director’s Cut. The app also includes Dead-Ops Arcade (a 50-level zombie gauntlet), a CoD Point System (single player mode), along with six tiers of in-app purchase options to help users unlock areas and purchase weapons.
In addition, the app supports solo play or multiple player team play – with up to four players via WiFi.
The game is available for $6.99, although because of all the in-app purchasing, expect to pay a lot more than seven bucks if you really get into it.
The game launched on Sony Xperia devices on August 7, and at the time was said to be an Xperia exclusive for one month. It looks like that was accurate to the date. Here it is, September 7, and the full rollout has happened.
