Acer has debuted the Iconia Tab A510, a new tablet powered by Nvidia’s quad-core Tegra 3 processor.
The processor boasts a low-power fifth core to handle tasks like video streaming and provide long battery life, which Acer says lasts up to 12 hours of video playback. In addition, the Tegra 3 boasts 2.6 times the overall performance and up to three times the graphics performance of previous-gen chips.
The tablet – which runs Android 4.0 and arrives with Adobe Flash 11 pre-installed – features a 10.1-inch touchscreen capable of supporting 10 touch points at one time.
The screen resolution is an impressive 1280 x 800, with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 85-degree viewing angles.
The new Iconia is also loaded with Dolby Mobile 3 audio, along with an integrated micro HDMI port and is capable of rendering 1080p video out to an external display at 30 frames per second.
Additional hardware specs include 1 GB of RAM, 32 GB of flash storage and a microSD card slot supporting up to 32 GB of additional storage.
As expected, the tablet is also equipped with integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR. The front facing camera is a one-megapixel unit for video conferencing and chatting, while the rear camera is a five-megapixel unit with autofocus designed to record HD video.
The Acer Iconia Tab A510 tablet is currently available for pre-order at a $450 price point.
