The newest phone in the line of Google brainchildren is having some growing pains.
Within days of its launch in the UK, users began reporting on a mysterious bug that causes the Galaxy Nexus’s volume to drop to zero and prevents it from being adjusted for a few seconds.
Samsung, the phone’s manufacturer, first offered a free replacement to all affected users. But even some of those who took the offer
It appears to be a completely spotty and random glitch, though because of its randomness it’s impossible to know if every unit is plagued with the bug.
At least, impossible for us to know. But luckily Samsug has managed to figure out what was causing the weird problem.
In an e-mail quoted by PC World, a Samsung spokesperson wrote, “We are aware of the volume issue and have developed a fix. We will update devices as soon as possible.”
It’s unlikely to detract from the excitement surrounding the Galaxy Nexus, which is the first phone to run the newest version of Android, known as Ice Cream Sandwich.
With a Super AMOLED display, a massive 4.65-inch touchscreen, and dual-core processor and 1280×720 resolution, the Galaxy Nexus is no joke. As long as Samsung patches up little blips like this ASAP, there won’t be any problems.
