A month ago we saw our first trailer for the fourth season of Fringe. Today, we have three more to watch.
Fringe is one of the most popular genre television shows out right now, and the cliffhanger from the end of season three was masterfully executed. The secondary lead character, Peter Bishop saved the world, but vanished in the process, seemingly to a place where no one can see, hear, or remember him at all.
The three trailers each hearken back to scenes from previous seasons which set up the current situation. The first looks back at the conversation between Walter and one of the observers, where Walter learns that Peter must save the universes.
In the next one we have a flash back to when Olivia was trapped in Fouxlivia’s life, and she keeps hallucinating Peter. Not likely to be directly tied to the current situation, but apt nonetheless
The last shows bits of the other three – the first one being the trailer which was released some time ago, and points out that each is a scene from a specific season.
The final short clip then can be assumed to be from the fourth season – unless it’s from a previous season and I simply can’t place it (I’m sure I’ll hear about it in the comments if I’m wrong). Olivia gives a brief soliloquy about loneliness, likely as a reference to a life-long lack of peter, now that she is unable to remember that he ever existed.
They released another teaser a while ago which showed a bunch of faked auditions for the show, including one of Joshua Jackson, the actor who plays Peter, auditioning for his role in the costume of an Observer, hinting that that will be part of Peter’s character.
Tune into the Fringe season four premier episode, A Sort of Homecoming, on September 23, 2011 on Fox.
