Hacker sent to prison for billboard porn prank

Last year in Moscow, motorists and pedestrians were amazed to see a video billboard’s message transform from a harmless advertisement to a full-fledged porno scene.

What started off as a harmless joke – plus a past offense for trying to sell 13 grams of marijuana (apparently worth four and a half years of hard labor) – has landed one Russian prankster a year and a half of jail time.

During his sentecing, 40-year old Igor Blinnikov admitted he “expected a bit less,” than the sentence handed down by the judge.

Nevertheless, Blinnikov remains somewhat hopeful, as he plans to appeal the ruling in an effort to get it reduced.

When asked why he hacked the video billboard, Blinnikov answered, “just for something to do.”

Definitely a valid reason if I ever heard one.

“[Really], I decided to confess because they’d caught me,” he added.
