Batman’s been in the news a lot lately, and by now you’ve probably read reports that when The Dark Knight Rises shoot hits New York, it may come in contact with Occupy Wall Street.
Batman’s also back in the news with his new video game, Batman Arkaham City. But first things first. As reported just about everywhere, there’s speculation that the Dark Knight Rises may come in contact with Occupy Wall Street starting October 29.
However, the L.A. Times believes this could be some kind of misdirection, or a red herring, for the press and fans dying for details. (The Dark Knight Rises production is going under the code name Magnus Rex).
Maybe having the Occupy Wall Street protest will give the movie a more updated feel, or provide tons of free extras, who knows? The film has also shot in L.A., Jodhpur, India (yes, Batman’s going Bollywood), and Pittsburgh.
As for the new Batman game, Arkham City, Entertainment Weekly weighed in with its review, the game “never gets boring. A big, rollicking, demented over-detailed and addictively brutish adventure, Arkham City isn’t just one of the most fun games I’ve played this year. It’s also just a flat-out entertaining Batman story, a celebration of the Caped Crusader’s expansive mythology.”
Listing the ratings for the title, MTV confirms that most reviews For Batman: Arkham City are strong, usually in the 9 out of 10 range. GamePro gave it 5 out of 5, 1UP.com gave it an A, Game Informer 10 out of 10, IGN 9.5 out of 10, and GameSpot a 9 out of 10.
Time has also dubbed the title “A Knight to Remember,” and further reports, “In the same way that Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight was a follow-up that expertly improved upon an already solid original, so too does Arkham City build a richer and more satisfying experience on the study foundation of 2009’s Arkham Asylum… Pretty much everything that made Asylum a best-in-class game is here, only bigger and better.”
