Sony is reportedly planning on bringing its PS3 digital download store next week.
Accoring to Gamasutra, which says it obtained an internal memo from Sony to its development partners, the platform will be back online on May 24.
Sony brought online access restoration to the PS3 late last week, but only for online multiplayer features. Other areas of access, including the Playstation Store, have remained suspended.
If it brings back the PS Store next week, it will have an entire month’s worth of content to publish. For the last three weeks, publishers have been unable to release their downloadable PS3 and PSP games. Sony has said it will make all of that previously scheduled content available, but it’s unclear if it will all be posted immediately. It may take a couple weeks to release all the games and movies that were supposed to come out over the past month.
“If there are concerns, we are willing to consider adjusting the release date of your content on this schedule. Adjustments will be made on a case by case basis,” Sony reportedly said in its e-mail.
When the Playstation Store does come back online, users will be able to download up to four PS3 and PSP games for free, and they’ll also get a free 30-day subscription to the premium Playstation Plus service, which gives users access to discounts in the Playstation Store as well as occasional free downloads and exclusive content.
