The emergence of adult content is always a sign of a new medium breaking in, and Penthouse, one of the biggest players in the business, is ready to bring its tantalizingly salacious content to the world of 3D.
Penthouse reportedly began shooting a series of full-on 3D pornographic movies last summer and is ready to bring them to the masses. Well, that is, the small mass of people who actually have a 3D TV at this point.
The adult content conglomerate will be ready to launch its own premium 3D channel this summer, according to a report from Crunch Gear. Viewers will need to pay a hefty fee to be able to access this latest and greatest advancement in porn technology.
But Penthouse is not the first to announce a 3D porn initiative. In other countries, like France, 3D TV channels are already available. However, there is no such available content in the US as of now. Penthouse will change that.
In addition to running through all of the content that has already been filmed, Penthouse promises to continually deliver new 3D material every month.
The channel, reportedly to be called Penthouse 3D, . It’s unclear if the company has lined up any cable provider partners yet, but it is no doubt confident that it can penetrate as much of the market as possible. Terribly awful pun intended.
