Nintendo 3DS specs and images leak onto the ‘Net

Detailed specs and images of Nintendo’s upcoming 3DS handheld console have leaked onto the ‘Net.

Uploaded by Chinese factory workers, new images of the device first appeared on a Japanese gaming forum website before they were unceremoniously removed by moderators.

The purported photos appear to depict a “Cosmo Black” 3DS that closely resembles a prototype model routinely showcased by Nintendo since E3 2010.

However, the hardware seems to have been slightly tweaked, as the “Start,” “Home,” and “Select” buttons are now flush with the device.

Previously unknown specs revealed by the factory workers include the unit’s 96MB of RAM and a 1,300 mAh battery.

The long-awaited 3D handheld console is expected to land in North America sometime before April.

Numerous first and third-party titles are slated to debut alongside the 3DS, including Kid Icarus, Mario Kart, Metal Gear Solid and Dragon Quest.
