A new pack of downloadable content (DLC) for Call of Duty: Black Ops will be available in 12 days.
The game’s development studio Treyarch made the announcement today, with the expected footnote that the new content will only be available on Xbox 360 at first.
It will be released to PS3 and PC gamers several weeks later, as part of a financial deal between Microsoft and Treyarch.
The new DLC bundle will be the third released for Black Ops since it was released last November, when it scored the record for having the highest-grossing launch sales of any video game, movie, or music album ever.
The latest installment, entitled Annihilation, will include four new online multiplayer maps:
– Hangar 18
– Drive-In
– Silo
– Hazard
In addition, a new adventure mode called Sangri-La is included, which Treyarch described as “an exotic and mysterious map filled with deadly traps, dark secrets and innovative gameplay that will challenge even the most daring Zombie hunters” in a statement.
It’s expected this latest set of DLC will sell for $15, the same as the previous two, though Treyarch did not confirm the price in its announcement.
The next version of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 3, is on track to come out this November, continuing the long trend of releasing a new title in the series every November.
