Lego model depicts battle for Isengard

A Flickr user by the name of OneLug has posted pictures of an intricate Lego model depicting the last march of the Ents.

As any self-respecting Lord of the Rings (LOTR) fan knows, the Ents marched on Isengard to retaliate against Saruman’s wanton destruction of Fangorn forest.

Saruman’s fortress is eventually destroyed, with the disgraced wizard trapped in the ancient tower of Orthnac.

The detailed model – which appears to have been constructed by a team of four – adheres to Peter Jackson’s popular film version of the hallowed trilogy.

The base of the model is 305 Lego studs (8ft) in diameter, while the tower Orthanc tower stands a proud 7ft, 2in tall (228 Lego bricks).

Of course, the model also includes a total of 23 Ents and 100+ Orcs, who are locked in a timeless, bloody battle.

This is the second Lego sci-fi/fantasy masterpiece we’ve reported on over the past week, as TG Daily recently covered a model of the (second) Death Star landing bay which a Florida teacher constructed out of a staggering 30,000 Lego pieces.

Jay Hoff shelled out approximately $2,300 to build the Star Wars tribute which was showcased during Science Discovery Day at his school.

“I only got to display the model for one day and I still haven’t had the heart to take it apart yet,” said Hoff.

“I’ve been crazy about LEGO ever since and began collecting it again in the early 90’s, especially when the Star Wars kits started coming out.”
