Avengers: The Age of Ultron should begin shooting this spring in England, and another major cast member has come aboard: Paul Bettany is playing the Vision.
It’s easy to misread this that he’s playing villain, but we all know James Spader is playing the villain Ultron. The Vision is a member of The Avengers, an android who becomes part of the team and gets cozy with Scarlett Witch, who will be played by Elizabeth Olsen.
The next Avengers movie will also play into Ant-Man, because Ultron was created by Dr. Hank Pym, who will be played by Michael Douglas in the Ant-Man flick. The Hollywood Reporter also wonders if Bettany will be voicing Jarvis, Iron Man’s computer butler, in Ultron as well. Bettany did that voice in the previous Iron Man films, so it would be interesting if he ends up doing double duty on Avengers 2.
Other cast members for Age of Ultra include Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who will play Quicksilver, and Thomas Kretschmann, who will be playing Baron Strucker.
In Jurassic World news, the long awaited Jurassic Park reboot / sequel will start rolling in April, and it’s being captured on celluloid. As Collider tells us, World will be shot in 35mm and 65mm, and the site believes this could mean an Imax release could be very likely.
Even though theaters all over the States will have to convert to digital or go out of business, it’s not stopping directors from working in celluloid, which can always be transferred to digital so it can play in theaters. Avengers Age of Ultron is due in theaters May 1, 2015, while Jurassic World will be released on June 12, 2015.
