Who cares about Batman Vs Superman? When are they going to make Batkid: the Movie? By now, everyone’s read the incredible story of Miles Scott, a five-year-old child who was diagnosed with leukemia when he was 18 months old, and is now in remission. Thanks to the Make a Wish foundation, Miles was a superhero for a day, and San Francisco transformed into Gotham City to make this special kid’s fantasy complete.
It’s a story that’s capturing the hearts of people all over the world, and several former Batmans, as well as the next Bat-apparent, have all sung the praises of Batkid.
As Christian Bale told Vulture, “What a wonderful day for the little fella! Wasn’t that fantastic? I saw all the pictures of him running around and saving people. It’s just fantastic, seeing all those people who were out there to support it.”
Michael Keaton also told TMZ , “It’s the cutest thing in the world. That’s such a cool thing, that’s such a sweet idea.” And Ben Affleck, who we’ll be seeing as the caped crusader in Batman Vs Superman, tweeted, “Batkid. Best Batman Ever.” As Variety reports, Ed Lee, the mayor of San Francisco, said that November 15, 2013 “is Batkid day forever. You won our hearts with your story…it’s been a day of magic.”
Indeed, and it is absolutely wonderful to see so many people pulling together to make one special kid’s day. Batman has been a symbol of hope and strength for so many people, and now thanks to Batkid, he symbolizes triumph over adversity now more than ever.
