Sweden’s Antonio Tulben has posted a video teasing his dark sci-fi comedy titled “LFO,” an acronym for low-frequency oscillation.
Essentially, the protagonist of the film has discovered that a series of specific tones, sounds and patterns can be used to hypnotize unsuspecting subjects.
Unfortunately, the protagonist lacks willing test subjects, and so begins to experiment on his neighbors. It isn’t long before he is drunk with power, simply because absolute power corrupts absolutely.
As the folks at GiantFreakinRobot note, LFO illustrates that you can pull off a cool science fiction movie even without an extravagant budget or access to lots of technological toys.
The official film synopsis is as follows:
“LFO is a dark comedy/drama/Sci-Fi about a man who realizes that he can hypnotize with sound. He starts experimenting on his neighbors, where the abuse of power takes over and, eventually, severe consequences for mankind are at stake.”
