Google has debuted a mini-game for Chrome that transforms websites into 3D landscape mazes.
Users then access the transformed website on their smartphones – like a classic game controller – to navigate and tilt the mazes.
“World Wide Maze” can be accessed at chrome.com/maze via Mountain View’s Chrome browser. Once on the site, users launch the Chrome app on their phones and sync the two together. This can be done via Tab Sync, by scanning a QR code or simply emailing a link.
Using the smartphone, gamers are tasked with rolling a marble through the 3D maze and collecting items, all without rolling or jumping off the page.
The game – coded in HTML 5 – requires a minimum of 1GB of RAM and at least a 256MB graphics card for hardware acceleration.
