No one can deny that Fringe had a good run. Five seasons and 100 episodes is certainly nothing to scoff at this days, especially as networks are all too eager cancel genre shows if the ratings aren’t through the roof.
Of course Fringe can’t really compare to X-Files, although the series, created by JJ Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci has a decidedly different flavor, especially with the addition of the rather eccentric Walter Bishop played by John Noble.
For the uninitiated, the “Fringe Division” is based in Boston, Massachusetts under the auspices of Homeland Security and used “fringe science,” often steeped in Cold War-era research to investigate enigmatic occurrences related to a parallel universe.
Now Fringe may be gone, but the series is certainly not forgotten, with the stars of the show shooting a thank-you video for fans who have faithfully followed the show for five years.
Judging by the video, it seems as if the actors enjoyed playing their characters and really got into their respective roles over the years.
So here’s to hoping Fringe can be resurrected, albeit temporarily, on the big screen. Unfortunately, it is probably far too early to think about a movie, but if it worked for X-Files, it certainly could happen with Fringe.
