Video: Everything wrong with Avatar in 4 minutes

If you’re a fan of science fiction and popular cinema, odds are you’ve already seen James Cameron’s Avatar. You know, the movie with the giant blue aliens.

The film did incredibly well at the theater, becoming the highest grossing movie ever made.

Nevertheless, there were a number of things about the movie that were, well, downright strange. Recently, the CinemaSins crew created a new video titled “Everything wrong with Avatar in 4 minutes or less.” The video is packed with footage, some of which I’ll admit to not noticing in the film.

However, there were a number of things shown in the video that bothered me as well. Particularly, when the scar face the bad guy pulled the giant knife off the side of his robot suit during the hand-to-hand battle with the hero avatar. Clearly, that knife was needed because the robot using its gun would’ve meant no contest to the avatar. It was weird, though considering we had never seen a giant knife on other robots in the movie, yet this guy pulls one out of thin air.

I also got quite a kick out of the video making fun of Michelle Rodriguez. I guess that’s what they’re going for when they cast the part, as it required a strong actor for the character. It also talks about the scene where Sully jumps from the top of the waterfall as the alien creature chases him early in the film.

Exactly how they weren’t able to determine where Sully went really bothered me considering the movie was set in the distant future, and we’ve already had GPS tracking for years.  Check out the video above for yourself and see if you can spot any discrepancies or oddities.
