Keeping in line with a newly developing trend, some Wii U games are set to go on sale before the Wii U console itself.
At least one retailer – Gamestop – plans on capturing the pre-launch insanity by assuming some consumers will buy games they cannot even play, at least not for a couple weeks.
For previous console launches, stores would often receive launch games well in advance of the shipment of systems, with no specific instructions to hold off on selling those games.
But common sense sort of dictated that the stores keep them in the back room until the console was actually available. Of course, eventually everyone started realizing that common sense goes out the window when it comes to rabid fans and their video game affections.
As a result, with systems like the Nintendo 3DS and Playstation Vita, this new trend began of selling those early games just so gamers could get their hands on them and start dreaming about the day when they can actually start playing.
So, according to a report on Examiner.com, Gamestop will sell the following Wii U titles ahead of the November 19 Wii U launch:
* Mass Effect 3 (11/5/12)
* FIFA 13 (11/13/12)
* Assassin’s Creed 3 (11/13/12)
* Just Dance 4 (11/13/12)
* Madden 13 (11/13/12)
* Rabbids Lands (11/13/12)
