Intensive game playing on an Android smartphone is one quick way to drain your battery.
So if you are like me and want to separate your smartphone from your mobile gaming, well, you might want to check out the JXD S5100 Android handheld console.
The S5100 portable console looks somewhat like a Nintendo DS with only a single screen and missing hinged lid.
The portable console sells for $106 – making it a cheap way to get your Android gaming in. Remember, the the S5100 is specifically designed for gaming – boasting four buttons on the right, along with a circle pad and a D-pad on the left.
The device is powered by a 1 GHz Amlogic M3 ARM Cortex-A9 processor, 512 MB of RAM, and 4 GB of storage. The screen measures a very respectable 5-inches and featires integrated Wi-Fi, HDMI output, headphone Jack, front camera and USB port. TSoftware ships pre-installed on the console for emulating old Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advanced, and other old-school video games.
The console currently runs Android 2.3, although Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) is reportedly on the way. The JXD S5100 can be purchased here.
