The PS3 game MLB 12 The Show predicts that the National League All-Stars will win the 2012 All-Star Game.
The Sony exclusive title is considered the most sophisticated baseball simulation video game, even though hypothetical predictions of real-life games like this often do not come true.
Nevertheless, it’s always a part of the baseball season, so here’s what The Show has to predict this year.
“After simulating tomorrow night’s 2012 All-Star Game, the win will go to the NL All-Stars, who will make it three in a row after a 13-year winless streak, hanging on to beat the AL by a score of 3-2 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri,” Sony wrote in a Playstation Blog post.
During the simulation, the AL started off with a 1-0 lead thanks to Prince Fielder, but the NL eventually managed to come ahead with a final score of 3-2.
In honor of the All-Star Game, Sony has also launched MLB 12 The Show’s Home Run Derby Online, which users can download from the PS3’s Playstation Store.
“So, while you’re watching your favorite sluggers compete in the State Farm Home Run Derby tonight (8:00pm EST on ESPN), you can duke it with your friends in your own virtual HR Derby from the comfort of your own home. Pretty cool, right?” Sony said.
The All-Star Game is set to air on Fox tonight at 8:00 PM Eastern Time. We’ll see if Sony’s prediction is accurate.
