The Steve Jobs biopic with Ashton Kutcher playing the legendary Apple co-founder will soon kick off production – in the fabled Los Altos garage where the two Steves started it all.
According to Five Star Feature Films, production began immediately after Steve Jobs retired in 2011.
The film is apparently based on details gleaned from extensive research, including interviews with friends, coworkers and mentors.
Indeed, the studio intends to focus on what they’re calling the “30 most defining years” of Jobs’ life” to create a dark, honest, and uncompromising film.
Thus far, there have been no official announcements about other actors attached to the film aside from Ashton Kutcher. However, the latest rumors point to to Josh Gad – a Broadway actor who appeared in “Book of Mormon” – to play the role of Steve Wozniak.
Jobs will apparently be a made-for-TV film, with executive producer Mark Hulme planning to complete the movie in time for Q4 2012 release. It should be be noted that Sony is also working on a theatrical film about the life of Steve Jobs with veteran Hollywood scribe Aaron Sorkin tapped to write the screenplay.
