Here’s all you need to know about the downloadable content (DLC) for Max Payne 3’s multiplayer functionality.
Rockstar has just released the DLC plan for this summer. The first pack will be called the Local Justice Map Pack, which will contain a Police Preinct map for several multiplayer modes.
It will also include two more maps for Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Payne Killer modes only, as well as special avatar items and other unique multiplayer challenges.
For the rest of the summer, the following DLC packs are slated: Disorganized Crime Map Pack, Deathmatch Made in Heaven Mode Pack, Hostage Negotiation Map Pack, and New York Minute Co-Op Pack.
In addition, Rockstar has already confirmed two DLC items for the fall – two Map Packs called Painful Memories and Trickle Down Economics.
The latest entry in Rockstar’s Max Payne series will have a heavy focus on multiplayer. Rockstar boasts that in this iteration of the franchise, “Max Payne’s combination of highly-responsive and cinematic shooting action to multiplayer.”
To date, the series has been comprised entirely of single-player adventures, and even as such the games have received very positive reviews.
Rockstar, of course, is best known for its Grand Theft Auto titles, which are engineered to create controversy.
But the publisher has a history of creating other, epic games that don’t get as much attention but are often praised just as highly from critics.
Max Payne is one of those franchises. It’s still a bloody and violent game, but in this series that content is portrayed much more in context with the storyline.
The game has an emphasis on guiding players through a captivating adventure, such that the violence is not gratuitous; it’s necessary and pivotal to keep players’ attention.
