Snow White and the Huntsman videos see the end of a kingdom

Universal Pictures has released quite a lot of promotional material for its upcoming action fairy tale adaptation, Snow White and the Huntsman. This week we have a few new clip, along with a featurette.

This first clip gives us a look at the direct dynamic between Snow (Kristen Stewart) and the queen (Charlize Theron). These characters spend most of the story reviling one another from a distance, so it’s good to see that they will get a few good moments together.

This second clip portrays the queen’s apparent temper, this time across from The Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth), who seems perfect for the part.

This last clip, though short, is the one with the most interesting material, as it gives us our first look at Prince William (Sam Claflin). For the romantic interest, he’s been surprisingly absent from the teasers and trailers before now. Perhaps his scenes are still being edited. This brief moment doesn’t say much, but at least he doesn’t look as much like a vampire as he did in those early character posters we saw last year.

And this featurette is a behind the scenes look at the filming of the scene that short clip is from, interspersed with some clips from an interview with Claflin about this particular day of shooting.

Here’s the double-length theatrical trailer, for reference:

The official synopsis of Snow White and the Huntsman is thus:

In the epic action-adventure “Snow White and the Huntsman,” Kristen Stewart (“Twilight”) plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Oscar winner Charlize Theron) who is out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth, “Thor”) who was dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin (“Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”) joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power.

Snow White and the Huntsman, which also stars, Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, Eddie Izzard, Bob Hoskins, Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan, Stephen Graham, Ray Winstone, and Lily Cole, hits theaters on June 1, 2012.
