Cupertino (CA) – Apple got a legal letter from the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) on behalf of a non commercial site called Bluwiki.
The EFF said that Bluwiki, which is operated by a company called Odioworks, is a public service and last year included a discussion about how to make some Ipods work with software rather than Apple Itunes.
Lawyers from the Cupertino firm sent Odioworks a demand to remove the content and alleged that copyright was being infringed and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) was being breached.
Odioworks took down the content, but now the EFF is taking action on its behalf against Apple because, it says, this material doesn’t violate Apple’s copyright, nor does it breach any provisions of the DMCA.
You can find the complaint on the EFF site, here.
