Ridley Scott has confirmed that sultry Noomi Rapace of Dragon Tattoo fame will star in a new sci-fi flick dubbed Prometheus.
According to Scott, Prometheus is slated to be a stand-alone film, rather than a two-part Alien prequel.
However, the prolific director acknowledged the movie would feature “strands of Alien’s DNA,” while tackling ideas that were “unique, large and provocative.”
“[Yes], while Alien was indeed the jumping-off point for this project, out of the creative process evolved a new, grand mythology and universe in which this original story takes place,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Rapace said she planned on getting into tip-top shape to play British scientist Elizabeth Shaw.
“I want to turn my body into something like a cat or a lion. They can be still and relaxed, and then explode.”
Hot damn!
Prometheus will be hitting the theaters in March 2012.
