The pranksters who pretended they worked for the US Chamber of Commerce and issued a press release last week have received a writ for their trouble yesterday.
The Yes Men pretended to be officials reversing the Chamber of Commerce’s position on climate change.
A number of news organizations fell for the fake press release hook line and sinker and reported that the Chamber endorsed the capping of carbon emissions.
The US Chamber of Commerce is not amused. It issued the law suit against the Yes Men because they’d refused to remove a fake web site that actually is there to promote a film.
The Yes Men are now not likely to be amused either. The lawyers will be happy, at least.
