San Francisco, Calif. Apple has released a comprehensive update for its Snow Leopard operating system. According to Club Cupertino, version 10.6.1 offers “general” fixes designed to “enhance” the stability, compatibility and security of the OS.
Indeed, the update attempts to address a number of bugs and glitches, including unexpected DVD playback outages, dysfunctional Mail auto account setup, SMTP server “issues” and a crash-prone Motion 4.
In addition, OS X v10.6.1 claims to resolve modem (Sierra Wireless 3G) and printer compatibility difficulties experienced by some users.
Apple has also published a 70MB update for its Max OS X server, which improves Grand Central Dispatch reliability of services and corrects the duplication of serial number alerts on servers with multiple network interfaces.
Finally, Apple released a slew of updates for its older operating systems along with an iMac Graphics Firmware Update (1.0.2.) that targets the ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro and ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT graphics cards running Mac OS X 10.5.2 or later.
