Chip firm AMD said its Windows 7 graphics driver has received certification from Microsoft.
The WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Lab) certification will be extended to create a unified driver which supports Vista and Windows 7 for the release of ATI Catalyst 9.5 later this month.
AMD said that for users of ATI Radeon HD2000s, HD3000s, and HD4000 products the software support includes full WDDM certified support for Windows 7, as well as enabling ATI Stream tech for general purpise graphics computing on supported graphics cards.
It claims that AMD is the only graphics hardware company in the world delivering monthly WHQL certified graphics driver updates.
