TCL T2 is a quad-core Android game console

TCL’s T2 is an Android game console packing Allwinner’s A31 quad-core processor.

The console also features Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, along with a wireless game controller that offers analog sticks, a D-pad and the typical spread of gaming buttons.

In addition, the TCL T2 is equipped with a USB port, HDMI port, Ethernet jack and micro USB port.

As Liliputing’s Brad Linder notes, the TCL T2 joins a growing list of small, low-power game consoles designed to bring Android video games to TV screens including the Ouya, GameStick, FunBox, Huawei Tron, Mad Catz M.O.J.O. and GamePop.

“However, this is the first microconsole I’ve seen to feature Allwinner’s A31 processor,” said Linder. “While the quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU isn’t exactly a speed demon, Allwinner’s chip features PowerVR SGX544 MP2 graphics and can handle 4K Ultra HD video playback.”

The TCL T2 is slated to launch in China on April 30th with a $110 price tag.
