The TronSmart MK908 II, priced at $69-$75, is powered by a Rockchip RK3188 ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core processor and features 2GB of RAM, 8GB of built-in storage, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth and a microSD card slot.
Additional specs? Two microUSB ports, 1 full-sized USB port and an HDMI port.
As Liliputing’s Brad Linder points out, the biggest difference between the new model and the original (which sports similar specs) is the adjustable WiFi antenna.
“Personally I didn’t have any problems connecting the original MK908 to my home WiFi network, but these tiny Android TV sticks are notorious for flaky WiFi performance,” Linder explained. “So in general I’m a fan of any changes designed to improve WiFi reception.”
As noted above, the MK908 II set-top box is priced at between MK908 II set-top box $69-$75, which slightly more than first-gen MK908 devices which can be snapped up for around $60 or slightly less.
