Gameloft is showcasing a trailer teasing Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour for iOS and Android devices at the Tokyo Games Show in Japan.
Although the quality of the graphics and gameplay are difficult to distinguish in the video below, AndroidCentral’s Simon Sage notes that games like MC have always pushed the outer limits of what is graphically possible on smartphones.
“While the storyline isn’t anything particularly riveting or original, I can only imagine Modern Combat 4 will continue to push the envelope,” he opined.
Phandroid’s Quentyn Kennemer expressed similar sentiments.
”Gameloft’s committing to the Modern Combat series as much as Activision has to Call of Duty, and while the former is nowhere near the latter in terms of quality, it definitely is among the top of the class for mobile shooters.”
Zero Hour’s predecessor was the multiplayer-enabled 2011 hit Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation. The upcoming game will be the fourth part in the Modern Combat series, following Fallen Nation, Sandstorm and Black Pegasus.
