Anticipation is building for the Aliens: Colonial Marines video game, especially in the wake of Ridley Scott’s Prometheus.
Sure, we’ve had some ups and downs – with a number of reports indicating female characters would be absent from the game – although the claims were ultimately rebuffed earlier this month. Now we’ve already seen some pretty sweet trailers for Colonial Marines, including one where the humans are stalked by bloodthirsty Xenomorphs.
Recently, Sega posted another trailer showcasing a number of pre-order incentives, such as the ability to play as characters from the classic sci-fi horror movie.
Indeed, those who pre-order will be able to play as Hicks, Hudson, Drake, and Apone. Sadly, there is no mention of Ripley, which makes me wonder if Sigourney Weaver wouldn’t allow Sega to use her likeness. Nevertheless, by pre-ordering the game, you’ll still get access to Ripley’s flamethrower used to roast the Queen’s eggs.
I’m really looking forward to Aliens: Colonial Marines , but we obviously have a ways to go before the game launches on February 12, 2013 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Marines will also be hitting the Wii U, although a precise release date has yet to be announced.
