Seaborne Pictures has released the first trailer for its upcoming psychological thriller, After.
The film seems to ask a lot of questions about cognizance, mentality, memory, personhood, and all that good stuff, while simultaneously being super creepy. But hey, that’s what a good psychological thriller is supposed to do, right?
We also have this synopsis:
When two bus crash survivors awake to discover that they are the only people left in their small town, they must form an unlikely alliance in a race to unravel the truth behind their isolation. As strange events begin to unfold, they start to question whether the town they know so well is really what it seems.
Personally, I think it’s quite refreshing to see a real thriller from an indie house. So often, indie films go for the cheap thrills and scares, and end up making a startle-flick with a bunch of gross-out effects. This one looks genuinely creepy, however, so I’m looking forward to learning more about it.
I’m only (somewhat) wary that too much has been given away in this trailer, but perhaps the film has more twists in mind that only the ones shown off here.
After, which is directed by Ryan Smith and stars Steven Strait, Karolina Wydra, and Madison Lintz, hits theaters on September 12th, 2012.
