Summit has released the first full-length trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2.
Fans have long been awaiting this conclusion to the franchise, which sees the three books of Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight quadrilogy split into five films. This final film covers the second half of the fourth book, and details the beginning of Bella and Edward’s marriage, and the raising of their first child.
The Twilight books and films have been a sensation amongst young adults since 2008, launching the careers of Meyer and the film’s actors nearly overnight. With that kind of success (despite lack of much critical acclaim in any media), I wouldn’t expect the franchise to be over. If Meyer doesn’t write more books in the storyworld, the existing stories will simply be readapted.
A graphic novel series is in the works, and there are rumors floating around that Summit already plans a reboot of the film franchise with a new cast and bigger budget.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, which was directed by Bill Condon and stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, hits theaters on November 16th, 2012.
