Marvel has released the first clip from its upcoming super hero ensemble film, The Avengers.
The clip shows us one of Scarlet Johansson’s fight scenes as the Black Widow. She’s wearing a sexy dress, and clearly, is doing a lot more than holding her own.
This is just the first release of a series of videos Marvel has dubbed the Avengers Assemble, which will each feature a clip of one of the film’s six superheroes in action.
We also have a pair of new TV spots to show you with some new footage to see if you don’t blink:
and here’s the latest theatrical trailer for reference:
The film brings together all the superheroes which have thus far appeared in movies shot by the new Marvel film studio – as well as two new heroes, who will be getting their own films over the next few years.
All are recruited to fight a great menace when Loki brings an alien army to Earth.
Much of the film revolves around the themes of leadership and teamwork. Essentially, the heroes struggle to become a cohesive unit as their personalities clash along the way.
The long-form synopsis is thus:
When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as SHIELD, finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.
The Avengers continues the epic big-screen adventures started in “Iron Man,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “Iron Man 2,” “Thor” and “Captain America: The First Avenger”. Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson, and directed by Joss Whedon, “Marvel’s The Avengers” is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963 and a comics institution ever since.
Prepare yourself for an exciting event movie, packed with action and spectacular special effects, when Marvel’s The Avengers assemble in summer 2012.
